OUR FUTURE IS NOT FOR SALE!

We invite all generations to the central climate strike on 13.08.2021 in Frankfurt! Together against a financial sector that invests billions in coal, oil and gas. For a climate-just future

While the corona crisis is in full swing and the financial and social emergency for the vast majority is getting worse, a few continue to make profits at the expense of people and nature. Whether banks or politicians, they all talk about climate protection, but they make money of dirty investments:

At this moment private financial institutions are financing huge fossil projects, which alone would use up 3/4 of the remaining Co2 budget for 1.5 degrees *. For example, Commerzbank financed fossil energy companies with more than 11 billion dollars since the Paris Agreement. And Deutsche Bank alone has made $74 billion in climate-damaging investments between 2016 and 2020. But it's not just about decisions by individual companies that sell our future - the actions of banks are closely linked to political decisions. For example, in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, the German government bailed out Commerzbank. And although shares of the bank are still owned by the state, it acts as a blind eye to climate-damaging investments. While the government's measures give the impression that the climate crisis is still far away and will never reach Germany, climate-damaging companies are being listened to in parliaments.

We can no longer accept this state of affairs. Together, we want to create a moment of diversity in the midst of the gray financial district and start building democracy and solidarity from below. Let's lay the foundation for a climate-just future!
